Color Crush

Happy Wednesday, friends! How are things? I had a bit of a wake up call last week when my phone inadvertently spent the night with a complete stranger. If you want to talk about things that give me extreme anxiety, that will do it!colorful lingerie

Pete and I decided the weather was too nice to spend the evening inside, so we made our way to one of our favorite patios for dinner. He dropped me off in the alleyway in front of the restaurant (such a gentleman) and while he parked the car, I snagged us a table. Somewhere in between the car and my seat at the table, I lost my phone. The only logical explanation is that it fell out of my purse and I legitimately didn’t hear it hit the cement (only me). We spent hours scouring the area, let the neighboring businesses know it was missing and then watched it drive away from the pinned location on the Find My iPhone tracking app around 11 o’clock. Around 11:45 p.m., my phone was shut off and I figured that was it (and subsequently teared up at the thought of losing the photos and videos of my niece I hadn’t backed up).

The next morning we saw my phone had been turned back on and not ten minutes later, Pete got a call from a gal saying her uncle found the phone and didn’t know what to do with it. I’m not entirely sure why they didn’t reach out before, especially because we had been blowing up my phone in every way possible trying to get it back. I’m just thankful they decided to return it to me in the end. All this to say, I’ve been feeling a bit scatter-brained lately and this was a big reminder that I need to slow down and strive to be more present.

Now that we’ve got that little story out of the way, onto the goods! A friend of mine asked me earlier this week where she should look to pick out something unique and tasteful for an upcoming bridal brunch and the first thing that came to mind was a relatively new-to-me shop, Journelle! The name, taken from the archaic French word “journellement,” meaning daily, is a nod to the belief that wearing lovely lingerie is a everyday luxury. Journelle’s mission is to help women feel wonderful from the inside out – starting at the underpinnings.

Since we’re embarking on the thick of wedding season, which tends to bring seemingly endless bridal shower festivities and bachelorette parties, I wanted to share the love! Their pieces are anything but typical and oh so pretty. I stumbled upon the colorfully curated “Happy Honeymooning” page on their site and quickly realized I might be in a bit of trouble – everything is so good. All the more reason to update some of the tattered pieces in my own drawer, no?

I think most people tend to play it safe and gravitate toward black and white when picking out bridal shower gifts for friends and family, but I’m a big proponent of color (and steering clear of places like Victoria’s Secret so as not to end up with the same thing everyone else will inevitably be gifting).

Also important to note: I’m always seeking out free shipping (which they offer on purchases over $75 and wouldn’t be hard to do!) and free returns, which comes with every order.

Oh wow, that is crazy! Believe it or not, we haven’t done a single thing as far as wedding planning goes…we don’t even have a date, but we’ve got a few other big things in the works so I’m okay with that for now 🙂

Those are all so pretty! And don’t worry – we’ve all been there with our phones. I’ve gotten out of a car with the phone on my lap multiple times. I end up finding it in the street later. “)
