Weekending

If there’s one thing I’m good at, it’s making the most of my weekends. Most of the time, doing such takes shape in the form of good friends, good food, good finds, and a sweat session (or two!).magnolia bakery cupcakesOne of my favorite places in the city to get my snacking and shopping fix is at Block 37 down in the Loop! It’s a short walk from my apartment or a few stops on the red line, and they have a little something I like to call the triple threat (to my bank account, at least). Magnolia Bakery, Sephora, and Anthropologie are all lined up, ready and waiting for me to do some serious damage.ย espresso & cupcakesIt’s next to impossible for me to resist stopping in Magnolia Bakery for a sweet treat – a little pre-shopping fuel, if you will. And it’s always a spot high on the list of must visits when my girlfriends come to the city! I usually order a brown sugar cookie and a chocolate chunk, but if I’m feeling really indulgent, I’ll pick up one of their salted caramel chocolate chip cookies or the cupcake of the day. I’ve also been known to order a double shot of espresso on ice every once in a while, too!

After the sugar is pulsing through my veins, I usually make my way over to Sephora to pick up a few things I “need” (never mind the fact that my beauty cabinet is at capacity). I’m currently testing out a few new products and if they do what they say they can, I’ll be sharing them with you soon!

I could spend all day perusing the brightly colored novelties at Anthropologie. My most recent acquisitions are thisย journalย and a cozy sweaterย – all in preparation for fall, of course! (Side note: I’m anxiously awaiting the opening of the Banana Republic Factory store and Gayle’s Best Ever Grilled Cheese sounds like it was practically made for me. If you’ve been to the latter, let me know what you thought of it!)g & t cocktailBy this point in my excursion, post-shopping sips are generally in order. The Dearborn serves up some of my favorite cocktails (get the G&T if you go!) and the ambiance can’t be beat. All in a days work worth of play, right?

I’ll be giving away a $50 gift card to Block 37 over on Instagram later this evening so that one of you can treat yourself!

This post was sponsored by Block 37. Thank you for supporting the brands and businesses that make 26 and Not Counting the best it can be!
