Weekly Rounds Vol. 86

Happy, happy Friday! I hate that I haven’t had a whole lot of time to devote to this space lately as things have been crazy behind the scenes, but I’m hoping to find that little b word soon (balance, duh! 😜).Chicago photographerThis week was a mix of work and play and a few firsts! I spent Wednesday with the David’s Tea team at Chill Chicago for a morning of yoga, meditation, massage, and matcha! Believe it or not, I’d never tried matcha before. Admittedly, I didn’t even really know what it was, but I ended up really liking it. They sent me home with the nicest gift bag and I’ve made an iced matcha to-go in this little shaker every morning since!

I’ve been dying to get out to the lake for a long run but of course the Chicago weather has been less than ideal (it was actually flurrying this morning!) so I went for the next best thing and got myself to Shred for some treadmill intervals. It felt good coming off a few so-so workouts earlier in the week (one of which was a yoga class where I just could not get out of my own head). And then I had the best workout at Ethos to date with Victoria this morning and all was made right in my workout world again.

Tonight I’m heading to an event at Athleta and I’m looking forward to seeing some of the new pieces they have for spring – everything they do is always so good! Telling myself now to exercise some self-control.

I hope you enjoy this week’s round-up of links!

Song of the week: Nobody Compares to You – Gryffin (ft. Katie Pearlman). Turn it up and listen as you browse 🙂

LINKS I’VE LOVED LATELY:

  • I spend a lot of time at Foxtrot Market and they were so kind to send me a little something to try out some of their new chef prepared meals and then I realized I’d never shared about them on the blog! First and foremost, they’re a delivery service here in Chicago (they do a flat $5 delivery fee, which includes tip for the driver, and promise to get your order to you within 60 minutes! Such a good deal). You can get $10 off your first order when you sign up for an account with them! They also have really great spaces to work from, meet a friend for coffee, etc. Last night my friend Kaitlyn and I spent three hours catching up over a bottle of wine and a spicy chicken biscuit at the location on Southport. The biscuit was too die for and I left thinking I’ll try the grab-and-go breakfast burritos next. 😉
  • I’m excited to be teaming up with my friends Caitlin and Kelly to give away one of their Go Be Her prints to two of you! The message behind the prints says, “Don’t wait for someone to take the trip with, to buy the house with, to better yourself for. Decide who you want to be, and go be her.” And that is a thousand percent something I can get behind. To enter, make sure you’re following me on Instagram, follow The Babe Shop on Instagram, and leave a comment below letting us know who inspires you! The prints are only being sold through Sunday and each order will include two Go Be Her prints, of which they’re donating 10% of total profits to She Should Run, a non-profit organization committed to advancing women and girls in public leadership. Again, I love this.
  • I was sent this Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen and shared to my Instagram stories last weekend and I have never received so many DMs about a product before! It seems as though I’ve been missing out…and you guys have been holding back on me 😉 . I’ve been testing it this week and I can see why everyone raves about it! It’s the perfect blend between a sunscreen and a primer.
  • I swear I’ve seen an ad for these high waisted takara leggings on Instagram every single time I’ve logged on this week. Their targeted marketing is clearly paying off because I’m one view away from pulling the trigger haha. The reviews are 👌🏻.
  • I loved this list of prompts to help you get your financial shit together. I like the idea of picking one out and using it as a journal prompt!
  • I was recently introduced to Boy Smell’s line of candles and they are all so good, but the Cedar Stack just might be my favorite.
  • I just restocked this Kiehl’s hand salve, which has been my saving grace this winter. I use it all over my body about once a week before bed because my skin is sooo dry. I keep the smaller bottle in my tote bag and the larger bottle on my kitchen counter at home!
  • The Athleta friends and family sale is happening through the 11th. You can stop in to the location on Oak Street and mention this blog post for 20% off your purchase!
  • If you’re looking for libations that gives back, Simple Vodka is a new farm-to-bottle vodka that donates 20 meals to U.S. hunger relief per bottle produced. It’s sustainably made, too! I’ll be taking a deep dive into Pinterest to find a cocktail recipe to pour up for the weekend.
  • I’ve been spraying this Olay calming facial mist every hour on the hour this week. Anything to add a little extra zen and hydration to my day.
  • I ordered this wrap around bikini top on sale because it’s never too soon to be thinking about #summertimechi, right? Right.
  • I got a question on Instagram about what kind of socks are best for my white tennis shoes (which are the absolute BEST) since they’re more low cut. Most liner socks work for these as the no show socks are still a little too high cut! Side note: how cute are these socks from Kate Spade?

SHOP THE POST:

Alright, that’s all I’ve got for now! Whatever you’re up to this weekend, I hope it’s great! I’ll be sharing in real-time over on Instagram stories, so be sure to follow along there.

I’m inspired by many women in my life who are living different lives and supporting each other in their own enveavors. There are so many options for women now and I love seeing us cheer one another on.

Hey Katie! I love that so much and wholeheartedly agree. Can you shoot me an email at caitlinaigebrown@gmail.com with your address info so we can shoot a couple of prints over to you?! We would love if you would gift the second one to someone in your life who you want to inspire or encourage. Big hugs!
