Weekly Rounds Vol. 78

Ahhh Friday! So happy the weekend is almost here.best Chinese in ChicagoMonday seems like forever ago, but not it a bad way, more in a I’ve done all the things this week kind of way.

I finally got together for a workout with my friend Lauren at Title Boxing and then we got to see each other again when Lauren Kelp so graciously hosted us for one of her Tablemakers dinners with the Zelle team at Duck Duck Goat. It was my first time and hands-down one of the most incredible meals I’ve had in Chicago. I already added it to the list of places to take my best friend Whitney when she comes up to visit! If (more like when) you go, order the veggie spring rolls, crab rangoon, scallion pancakes, and pekan chicken…you won’t be disappointed, promise.

Then last night Melissa, Cody, and I went to a champagne tasting at Binny’s and we had the best time catching up in between sips of bubbly. SO much good food and drink this week, but even better company.

I quickly wanted to say that I’ll always disclose when the content I’m sharing is being paid with #ad or #sponsored on social media. I never feel the need to preface anything I share with “this isn’t sponsored or anything,” because that disclaimer suggests the sponsored content I do share is something I don’t truly believe in. I just genuinely like sharing what I’m wearing, eating, doing, and all of that with you, which is why I started this blog in the first place! 🙂

With that out of the way, here’s a look at what caught my eye over the last week or so. I hope you enjoy everything as much as I did!

Song of the week: I Don’t Know Why – Gavin James. Been listening to this one on repeat. The lyrics are just so good! Turn it up and listen as you browse this week’s links 🙂

AROUND THE WEB/WORLD:

  • I’ve had terrible insomnia lately (as in, I’ve been awake from 2 to 4 nearly every night, which is just as awful as it sounds). I ordered this CBD oil with high hopes that it helps! I’ll be sure to report back, but if you’re curious about it and want to try now, you can get $15 off your first order.
  • In case you missed it: holiday party outfit ideas, things I own that are on sale (lots of these are still going strong!), my wish list, and this easy appetizer recipe from the archives!
  • Garance penned a note on what the next chapter looks like for her and as someone who went through a big break up, it was comforting to know that simply put, some things aren’t meant to last forever (as selfish as that may sound). I went through so many of the same experiences with friends, family, acquaintances, etc. post-split. I also read through the comments on my post with a newfound appreciation for Mary who congratulated me on my new chapter.
  • Leandra’s words are a reminder that life is unfolding as it should and that what’s meant to be yours, will.
  • I loved reading Hallie’s reflections as she celebrated another year of life. #4…#11…#29…hell, all of them. Happy happy birthday!
  • I took a peek back at my 2018 goals after reading Maxie’s post on how to keep pushing forward through the last month of the year. It’s so easy to mentally check out this time of year, but if I can make the most of the next three weeks, I’ll feel a lot better about unplugging when I’m back home for a week at the end of December.
  • Winter weather is here and it’s already started to take a toll on my sensitive skin. I transitioned back to using this face butter at night to help give it the extra moisture it needs (I would bet I’ve gone through at least 7 jars of this since moving to Chicago!). Also saw they have this gift set which is an amazing deal!
  • I got a sample of this overnight firming mask and slathered it on before crawling into bed the last three nights and it’s safe to say it’s going into my face mask rotation. I wake up, rinse it off with cold water, apply moisturizer, and I’m good to go.
  • This time of year also takes a toll on my lips. I love the Sugar tinted lip treatment (in punch!). It’s the perfect hint of color and it’s super moisturizing. Win-win.
  • I’m intrigued by these eye masks which are on sale right now. I figure at 12 pairs for less than $15 they’re worth a shot!
  • Not-so-patiently waiting for this carry-on luggage to come back in stock in black. I wasn’t quick enough on the trigger during Shopbop’s big sale!
  • Your morning wake up call. Shop more cheeky items from ban.do – they make great gifts!
  • These stickers say it all. 😜

SHOP THE POST:

I signed up for Shred later this afternoon and am looking forward to a low-key night at home after being out and about so much this week. Then I’ve got a full day planned tomorrow starting with early morning yoga and then my first cupping and acupuncture appointment at Channing’s! Have you done either before? There is a laundry list of benefits for both treatments and I’m really excited! After that I’m meeting up with Maya to get some blog work done at Dropshop Coffee and Sunday is a little up in the air, but I’m hoping for a midday nap and maybe a mimosa or two.

What are you up to this weekend? I hope it’s the best! I’ll be sharing in real-time over on Instagram stories, so be sure to follow along there!
