Weekly Rounds Vol. 68

Friday, my favorite! Actually, Saturday is my favorite, but Friday is in close second and after a crazy busy week I’m welcoming it with open arms.weekend...we should hang out more(Side note: I just realized I skipped volume 65 and 66 of my Weekly Rounds series, which doesn’t surprise me in the slightest. Scatterbrained much?)

I think I’m finally back in a good groove when it comes to my workouts. I made it to Sweat three days this week and took a hot power flow yoga class with one of my favorites at Studio Three on Tuesday night. Definitely skipped my workout this morning after one too many drinks last night though…oops. Hoping to make up for it this weekend!

Wednesday night I had dinner with the PCA skincare team and I’m excited to test some of their products and report back! And last night I popped by Alice & Wonder in Lincoln Park for a pop-up with the Lively team. I always love catching up with Ali. If you haven’t checked out her shop, I can’t say enough good things – she has the best taste!

Song of the week:  I’ll Be There – Jess Glynne. Turn it up and listen as you browse this week’s links 🙂

AROUND THE WEB/WORLD:

  • A case for rethinking your my cold brew addiction. I made it two days without coffee this week and then caved yesterday morning. Why am I like this?
  • The latest dating trend: Orbiting. My god does this resonate with me. Remember when we talked about breadcrumbing? Oy.
  • I’m a big proponent of putting what you want out into the universe and generally going after what you want in life. If you don’t ask, the answer will always be “no.” “Most people never ask, and that’s what separates the people who do things from the people who just dream about them.”
  • The Gal Meets Glam collection at Nordstrom is everything I hoped it would be and more. I can’t wait to wear this off-the-shoulder dress to one of my favorite events this summer. Thinking I need to add this one to my closet next.
  • I recently restocked my favorite shampoo and conditioner and snagged a rollerball of my favorite perfume while I was at it!
  • A reminder to be kind, always. The world lost such a special soul in Avicii. His music has gotten me through so much life.
  • Ciao, bella! These peachy pink smoking slippers are too cute.
  • Speaking of pretty pink things, I shared a round-up of them along with a peek at my summer plans earlier this week.
  • I have this thing with lists and subsequently, a thing for notebooks. I love the look (and size!) of this one and think it would hold up a little better than the notepad I’m currently toting around.
  • I recently shared 15 pieces for my apartment refresh, along with a super artistic sketch of my plans for the space 😉
  • I love this sleeveless sweater (sign me up for the linen and black, please!)
  • I drink the same smoothie nearly every morning, but have been feeling burnout on it lately and I can’t wait to give this smoothie recipe from Jess a go!
  • You all know how much I love my Instax camera and this picture frame is just the thing to organize some of my favorite memories I’ve captured on it!
  • Bloggers: My friend Katie wrote a post on how to get your brand collaboration pitch read by a publicist and it’s not to be missed!
  • I’m so sad to report that my favorite Baldwin hat somehow didn’t make it back in my luggage after my last trip. I loved the navy I had, but decided to switch it up with this color instead!

SHOP THE POST:

I don’t have any real plans for the weekend and those type of weekends tend to be the best.

Whatever the weekend holds for you, I hope it’s great! I’ll be sharing in real-time over on InstagramSnapchat, and Twitter.

See you back here next week, guys!

I’m so glad you’ve been posting more regularly, I love your blog and have been sorely missing it!

Two questions: What is the Sweat workout? Is it the Kayla Itsines BBG program? And what is the smoothie you drink every morning?

Thanks for the post, happy you’re back 🙂

Katie, thank you SO much for this. Can’t tell you how much it means to me! Sweat fitness is a studio here in Chicago! Not sure where you’re located? You can take a peek here: http://sweatfitnessstudios.com/

My go-to smoothie is 2.5-3 cups of spinach (I buy big tubs of it and freeze it)…might sound like a lot but it breaks down into practically nothing + 1 frozen banana + 1 cup frozen mixed berries (I buy bags of the Market Pantry brand from Target. It’s blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries) + 1 TBSP of ground flax seed (the texture freak in me isn’t a fan of the whole flax) + 1.5 cups of water…blend and enjoy!

      Have the best Wednesday! 🙂
