Back in Blue

black and blue

I really can’t tell you how appreciative I am of your comments, emails, texts, Facebook messages (everything, really), in response to my last post. This past week was a mix of highs and lows, but such is life. I’ll get there.

I told myself I would take as long as I needed to come back to this space, whether that was a day, a week, a month – basically whatever I felt necessary. I’m not the greatest at hiding my feelings (jury is still out on whether or not that’s a good or bad thing) and I think that comes through in my writing a lot of the time. I had the itch to get back to blogging last Friday and decided I would work on some things over the weekend. Unfortunately, most of what I have to share was meant to be published last month, but it just didn’t happen. I hope you’ll bear with me!
Galentine's Day dress ribbon-tie heelsI spent the entire weekend doing things that make me happy. Friday evening I took my favorite workout class and had plans to go see La La Land afterward, but it was freezing cold and I ended up in line at Chipotle (don’t ask me how that happened). After that, I hopped in an Uber back to my apartment and assumed the position on the couch. The next day I stayed in bed extra long, made myself a late brunch, and then binge read The Couple Next Door. I couldn’t put it down and ended up reading the entire thing in one sitting! Sunday morning I met Katie for breakfast and a catch up session at Left Coast (their buckwheat pancakes were incredible) before venturing back home to get things in order for the week ahead. I caught highlights of the Golden Globes, too. Did you listen to Meryl Streep’s speech? Her words are so important.
the best black heels navy dress and black heels blue and silver dressI’ve been trying to get in the mindset of planning for 2017 and would love to hear from you. What are you liking/not liking as far as what I’m sharing here on the blog? What would you like to see more or less of in the coming year? Let me know in the comments below or feel free to email me: hello@26andnotcounting.com. I spent part of the weekend sifting through last year’s stats and based on those, you guys love the posts where I open up and talk about personal struggles/that little thing called life we’re all going through. That makes me happy, because that’s truly why I started this blog, to catalog the years – what’s inspiring me, what I’m doing, what I’m loving, and what I’m experiencing. Of course, I’d love to create even more of what you enjoy reading about without having to go through big life changes (there are only so many things this gal can handle at once, ya know?!), while simply sharing what’s happening day to day (or week to week) like I always have.
little blue dress bow heels cutout dressAs for this dress, I can’t even begin to tell you how comfortable it is (plus, it’s under $25!) and it comes in white, too. I’ve raved about these bow heels before and my feelings haven’t changed there!

I hope your Monday is great 🙂

Ah, thank you. I really can’t say how much I appreciate you saying that. It was the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make, but I know it was right. The same to you! And hopefully our paths will cross sooner rather than later 🙂 xx

  9. Hey girl hey! So glad to see you a) getting to where you need to be and b) back online! You’ve always inspired me from the first guest post you did for me and i’m a huge fan of your writing. I guess for here I would love for you to keep opening up in this space. I think that’s one of the many reasons I keep coming back and I wish I could do the same on my blog. I’ve also always loved watching your fitness journey on here and would love to see more of that! I actually have a possible collaboration opportunity brewing but I need to iron out a few more details. I will email you when I do! Jessika / beautybyjessika.com

I’m so happy to hear you say that – it means a lot 🙂 I definitely don’t plan to stop opening up and I’m looking forward to sharing more health/wellness/fitness in the coming year! I think the key to sharing personal stories is knowing that there is always someone going through the same thing as you and if it helps one person (even if that person is yourself!) then it has served its purpose.
