Holiday Party Style

festive picks for holiday parties and New Years EveThis weekend was so, so nice. We made brunch at home, caught up on a few shows, and got plenty of shut-eye! I popped by Whole Foods for a few things on Saturday morning and decided the miniature Christmas tree sitting out front was just the right size for our apartment. Thankfully, my Uber driver obliged when I asked if it could come along for the ride home! We decorated our place before we went home for Thanksgiving, but a tree was the last thing we needed to bring it all together. To make things even better, it snowed yesterday! Not just a few flurries, but big, fluffy flakes that fell for hours (which made lounging inside all day all the more acceptable). How was your weekend?

I’m heading to my first holiday party of the season tonight and can’t wait to get all dolled up! I’m going to wear this little white dress paired with this faux-fur stole, a red lip, my favorite earrings from Lily Dawson Designs and the black ribbon heels pictured above.

I rounded up my favorite pieces to help you get in the spirit should you have any upcoming holiday soirées of your own!

I always gravitate toward black, especially in the winter months, and this dress is no exception. The high neckline is so chic, just forgo a necklace and add a pair of statement earrings instead! If you aren’t a dress gal, a lacy peplum topblack pants and a pair of red heels would make for the perfect holiday outfit. I also really love this bracelet. It’s simple, elegant, and would go with just about everything.

In need of a little retail therapy (and some time away from the computer screen), I ventured out to do some shopping Friday afternoon. After two people said, “you have to get those” while I was trying on these black heels I decided it would be silly not to go home with them – not to mention the fact that they were 40% off (and still are!) and I didn’t have a pair of black heels to my name. The heel is the perfect height in my opinion – not too tall and not too short, and the ribbon adds a little something extra. I plan to tie them in a bow on the outside of my ankles!

It’s no secret that I love a well-placed bow and this top and these heels are both so fun. I’d gladly take one of everything you see here!

Do you have any festive fetes coming up?

Be sure to check out the holiday hair tutorials I put together with my sister a few years ago, too!

You most definitely do! They’re so cute and smell wonderful. We’ve picked up real trees the last two years and they always shed so much, so I’m determined to keep this one as hydrated as possible!

I officially want EVERYTHING. Two quick notes – I love the J.Crew bow white top (it’s so cute) and I got the velvet clutch for my sister-in-law for Christmas. It’s even more beautiful in person!!!! I can’t wait to give it to her 🙂
