TGIF, my friends! How did this week treat you?The weather has been absolutely incredible (sunny and 70 yesterday!), but like all good things, that’s going to come to a screeching hault tomorrow when we’re looking at a high of 42 and even higher winds – eek. In an attempt to get out and about as much as humanly possible before we all retreat into hibernation mode, I’ve been making it a point to say “yes” more. When I heard Shaheen and Blair were hosting an event over in the West Loop this past Wednesday I thought, why not? It ended up being such a great evening full of fruitful conversations and these delicious gin/lemon/honey cocktails. Making a mental note to continue to say “yes” and to get my hands on that recipe so I can recreate it, stat.

We leave bright and early next Wednesday to head home for Thanksgiving, so I’m planning to squeeze in a few Torch classes over the weekend, get this mess of an apartment in order, and attempt to catch up on some sleep!
The recipe for my carb day outfit (I’m not a fan of turkey and this seemed like the next best thing) is a fairly simple one built on the basis that comfort is key. This is the what you can find me in! Mid-rise jeans, a flannel shirt, and comfortable booties. I’m definitely not a fan of high-rise denim, but these….so comfortable and beyond flattering, not to mention they’re a steal!

I was pleasantly surprised by the softness of this flannel shirt and the boyfriend fit adds some extra length, which I love. In true J.
