Coming Up For Air

My emotions really ran the gamut last week and if yesterday was any indicator, this week will be following suit. Anyone else riding this roller coaster?
drake on cakeOn one hand, a lot of really crazy/exciting things are happening in my personal life – which I’ll be sharing with you all soon, promise! Lots of planning and logistics to happen over the next two weeks, but I’ve been continually reminded by friends and family (and that little voice inside my head) that everything is going to work out as it should.

I was able to spend the weekend with close friends celebrating the start of the last year in my twenties. The love, endless support, everything..it just felt really good. Not to mention, my Drake on Cake dreams finally came true!

And on the other, the enormity of what’s continually unfolding around us can leave even the most positive of people feeling helpless.

My sister shared something last night which brought me a little slice of calm, “Do not be daunted by the weight of the world’s grief. Do justly, now. Love mercy, now. Walk humbly, now. You are not obligated to complete the work, but neither are you free to abandon it.”

If you’re thinking the below list looks much like a weekly rounds write up (which you usually see on Fridays), you would be correct. I had everything prepped and ready to go and it didn’t happen, so today it is!

I hope these links are a brief escape, because everyone deserves one once in a while.

AROUND THE WEB/WORLD:

  • I’ve been sharing sneak peeks over on Snapchat (find me under ‘jessicazimlich’) as to what 26 and Not Counting’s 3rd anniversary giveaway will entail and I’m so excited to share it with you guys! (hint, hint…get excited for next Monday!)
  • I tucked these tips on how to party smarter in my back pocket as I celebrated the big 2-9 this weekend!
  • And speaking of birthdays, everything from this post still rings true for me.
  • What do we think about the new Snapchat update?
  • I can’t get enough of this song from Mumford & Sons – it’s on constant repeat!
  • I’ve always been pretty fascinated with all things money (how people are making it, how they’re spending it, etc.) and I appreciated Julia’s transparency in her post last week.
  • 21 rosé tips you’ll want to know (thanks for sending these over Syd!)
  • An affordable army green jacket…get in my closet.
  • If you struggle with making small talk, try these tips on for size. And remember, I’m right there with ya!
  • I picked up this picnic basket strictly because it comes with a sidecar to house my favorite bottle of bubbly. Who can blame me?

Have a great week, friends!
