Weekly Rounds Vol. 30

Allow me to state the obvious here: It’s Friday. It’s October….and I’m just now checking in for the week. Oy.

Pete’s birthday was on Tuesday and we took the liberty to do next to nothing – which translates to getting takeout, assuming the position on the couch and catching up on endless episodes of The Big Bang Theory.

On my radar this week:

SHOP ‘TIL YA DROP:

  • Jonathan Adler knows his decor and candles are no exception – this one freshens up the whole living room and looks good while doing it.
  • My love affair with stripes continues with this striped tee.
  • This tortoise shell bracelet found it’s way into my online shopping cart this week.
  • A chic pair of rain booties for a steal.
  • End of summer sales are going strong and these Kate Spade espadrilles are half off.
  • The fedora I picked up a few weeks back now comes in a few more colors!
  • Madewell is offering an extra 30% off sales styles – as if you needed an excuse.

AROUND THE WEB/WORLD

  • My gal Shanley fed the masses with just $240 over a week’s time and as a result, this Kansas City brunch made it’s way onto my favorites list.
  • After watching Fed Up, I’ve become painfully aware that sugar is in some of the most unsuspecting foods and I found Dianna’s post on what you should know about sugar to be extremely helpful.
  • Kansas Citians: Athleta on the Plaza has a ton of free fitness classes this month!
  • Meg’s book, The Life Edit, launched this week and I can’t wait to dig in.
  • Picnics aren’t reserved strictly for summertime (I actually prefer to venture out when the temps die down).
  • Are you following the Humans of New York coverage on the refugees fleeing Syria and beyond? It’s heartbreaking.

My weekend plans center around being active outdoors as much as humanly possibly, preparing for our cruise to Mexico next week (!!) and spending some QT with both of our families. What about you?

Whatever you’re up to, I hope it’s great! As usual, I’ll be over on Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat (jessicazimlich) and Facebook.
