Weekly Rounds Vol. 27

Last Friday we headed south for the holiday weekend to spend time with family and log endless hours by the pool. Really, what’s not to love? Aside from the Texas-sized mosquitoes who couldn’t seem to get enough of me.

In the coming weeks I’ll fill you in on my roller coaster of a summer and slowly ease back into my regular posting schedule, but for now, just know that I’m so thankful you keep coming back to this space, even when I’m not always holding up my end of the bargain.

Today’s question isn’t the most thought provoking…

Would you rather comment using Disqus (seen previously on the blog) or comment using the WordPress form seen below? I’ve heard from those of you on both sides of the fence now and I’ve been having an internal debate on what to do. I know people don’t like change, let alone constant change, but I want to make the majority happy around here – so let me know….you know, down in the comments 🙂 Right after you peruse this week’s links…

AROUND THE WEB/WORLD

  • You know those cute (and sometimes not so cute) filters that let you add your location to a Snapchat? I just learned that they go by the name of geofilters and you can create your own.
  • Maya’s Lincoln Park abode has me itching to move into a new space!
  • Have you seen Socality Barbie‘s Instagram account? It’s so important to be able to laugh at yourself (especially as a blogger) and this is just too good.
  • Stuck in a rut? Try these tips on for size.
  • I totally feel Annie and appreciate her honesty. I think a new season will do me some good.
  • I finished up the last of my eye cream and while it didn’t burn the bejesus out of my eyes and provided adequate moisture as promised, it also didn’t offer up any miracles. What are your thoughts on the Tata Harper products?
  • Housekeeping note: Did you know you can pin images directly from the site? Just hover over the upper left hand corner of the pic you want to pin, click “pin it” and post away!

SHOP ‘TIL YA DROP:

  • My go-to shoe 3/4 of the year (but especially come fall!): Converse shoreline sneakers
  • …which would look great with this tie-belt skirt – a total steal at $18
  • Awaiting the day that I can don this felt fedora
  • Next up on my nightstand: Mindy Kaling’s new book, Why Not Me?
  • This section is rather sparse this week, but there’s plenty to shop here and here!

The forecast this weekend looks too good to be true (hello, 72 and sunny)! I’m looking forward to running outside, catching up on some work and spending some quality time with Pete! What about you?

Happy weekend, friends! As usual, I’ll be over on Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat (jessicazimlich) and Facebook.

This format seems easier to leave a comment from, for me anyway. 🙂 But, whatever you land on I’ll figure it out and leave my comments. Love you!! ❤️ Mom

  2. Zero preference on the comment thing – they’re equally easy for me!! So glad we’re on the same page – totally agree about a new season being good for me! CANNOT wait for Why Not Me? !!! I love her so much. Have an amazing weekend! xoxo

I prefer this to Disqus but not to the point that I wouldn’t comment either way. I love the Tata Harper Products (I’ve posted about them a few times) and I use the Restorative Eye Cream at night and really like it. I recently discovered Sunday Riley though, and the Start Over eye cream is my new favorite, It is AMAZING for the morning and feels like a little wake up for the under eye.

Good to know (for both Disqus and Tata Harper). Oh no, more choices! I’m going to look this one up 🙂

I am indifferent to the comments – either one works for me. Generally I think people want it to be as easy as possible. Disqus isn’t always the easiest!

I splurged on Tata Harper earlier this year and love the line. My skin feels great and I feel good knowing I’m using natural products. It’s definitely pricey though!

Thanks for the feedback! Easy is good 🙂 I think I just need to pull the trigger and give it a go because I haven’t found anything that’s wowed me yet.

I find Disquis can deter comments sometimes,… this one right now is so easy! I love the Tata Harper resurfacing mask, but my favorite eye cream is the L’Occitane Divine Eyes. A little goes a long way and it’s the best!

  8. Eye cream is the one step in my skin care routine I’m not consistent at but I do love Estee Lauder’s ‘advanced night repair eye’. Doesn’t burn at all! Speaking of KC weather, currently on my porch with a sweatshirt on #yasssssss !!

Well, not gonna lie…I haven’t been all that consistent until this past year when I realized I really need to be! This weather is AMAZING! We’ve had all our windows open this whole weekend. I’m not looking forward to it getting warmer again this week.

  9. This way of commenting is preferred by me…as a fellow blogger i find the Disqus rather annoying because you have to sign in to yet another thing! Thanks!! xo
