Ebb and Flow

Life generally has a nice ebb and flow to it, but what happens when the ebb doesn’t come back to relieve you of the constant flow? Suddenly you’re drowning in a sea of to-dos, missed plans and billowing anxiety.

Add the early arrival of your first niece and any order you were trying to instill in your life goes straight out the window – with good reason, of course.

I had to remind myself last week that I can do anything, but I can’t do everything. The tide of life doesn’t always play nice and there are factors you can’t control. Sometimes it’s best to release the reigns and give yourself time to regroup.

All this to say, I took a mini hiatus from the blog to reorganize, recharge and love on my sweet niece Camilla.

making the most of your summer whites

I’ve been combating my jam-packed summer schedule with laid back neutrals that offer up maximum comfortability (all while taking time to decompress any chance I can get).

These distressed denim shorts are an investment, but they’re so good that they’re the only pair I own. Match them with the softest nude flats – which will wear well as we move into fall – and a breezy cami and you’re set.

weekend wear

We spent the past few days wandering the Farmers’ Market, trying out a new-to-us pizza spot, celebrating a birthday with Pete’s coworkers and catching up with the fam.

A weekend well spent brings a week of content (quite literally, when it comes to blog posts). Monday, I’m ready for you!

  1. What a good reminder! I’m currently having a constant flow phase, which is why I have zero posts written for the week. Oh well, it happens! 🙂

Hey, as long as we can acknowledge it and get ourselves back on track, there is nothing wrong with a break 🙂 Good luck this week!

Agreed, but this one seems extra whirly (not a word) haha. I’m so ready for fall and the extra push I need to get back into my groove 🙂 Hope you had a great weekend!

  4. I loved seeing your niece, she looks so perfect!! This summer has been super busy and wild, but as long as you feel happy and balanced that’s all that matters! Those ebb’s and flows can be hard sometimes but you will always rise back to the top! And you have a great support system! 🙂 Happy Monday girlfriend!!
