June Edit

June. Ya, you read that right. If you weren’t aware that we were going to be flipping the page to a new month, I apologize for hitting you with such startling information – on a Monday no less!

June looks extremely promising and I’m looking forward to a fresh start and all the changes it’s going to bring to my life (more on that soon, promise). As for the rest of the summer, it’s back-to-back weekends packed to the brim with my favorite things and my favorite people. Bring it on.

This past weekend marked three years in Kansas City for Pete and I! It’s hard to wrap my mind around the fact that we’ve already been here for three years, but on the flip side, it’s also hard to believe it’s only been that long because it feels like home to me.

In an attempt to get some sort of structure set up around these parts, I’m excited to start a new monthly column! After you…

Jess' June Edit

A pretty embroidered dress that would be perfect for backyard BBQ’s or Sunday brunch.

Sally’s bedroom update (specifically that rug and that bedding) has me wishing I could speed up the process when it comes to outfitting our bedroom. I’m practicing patience over here.

This essence blush (c/o) might go by the name of “Autumn Peach,” but that doesn’t mean it’s not the perfect shade to swipe across your cheeks for a summer glow! You really can’t go wrong for $2.99, either. (Editor’s note: it looks darker in the image above, but it’s actually lighter in person and would probably fall into the coral category.)

I finally found a pair of training shoes that I like (two words: memory foam). No more wearing my running shoes to strength training classes at Health House, hooray!

Next up on my nightstand: The Girl On The Train. I’ve heard it’s got that Gone Girl vibe. Have you read it?

I finally ordered a pouch from One Truffle over the weekend and I did so guilt free because their Flash Sale is going on through today – jump on it! I plan to toss mine in my bag at the pool/lake so that things like cell phones stay dry. They’re great for travel, too.

Dress these sandals up or dress them down, it’s your call! (update: these are close to sold out, but I think I love this pair even more!)

The colors in this Happy Habitat Throw have my heart and it’s sure to brighten up your next picnic in the park.

I started Girl On The train while I was in the process of moving but lost track of time and didn’t finish before it was due back. Tim and I have a couple of long drives ahead of us in the coming weeks so I think I’ll make him listen too 🙂

Love your edit, Jess! The arrival of June definitely shocked me, but on the other hand, it means that long summer weekends are ahead, and that’s fantastic 🙂 I really recommend The Girl on the train – it’s a great summer read, definitely a page-turner! And those embellished sandals? Need. them. now! Happy June!

    • I feel so guilty for not checking the link again and noticing they were nearly sold out before I posted! But, I just ordered that white bejeweled pair from ASOS and I can’t wait to get them! Bonus, they’re cheaper 😉

What happened to May? Haha I know exactly how you feel, this May marked 2 years in Chicago and I find myself still telling people I’m new to the city but yet it feels more like home than my hometown. Love these picks though, those sandals are to die for! Happy June!
