Weekly Rounds Vol. 17

Oh, hey there! I swear I haven’t fallen off the face of the earth, I’ve simply been attempting to wrangle my thoughts (which is actually not simple by any stretch of the imagination now that I think about it). At one point during the week I gave myself a pep talk and decided it was in my best interest to venture out for a short run. So I did and the next thing I knew I was in the midst of a torrential downpour. For a split second I thought about going back inside, but I knew deep down I wouldn’t be doing myself any favors. I laughed at the situation and embraced the irony. Turns out, that run ended up being so good for my soul.

I was also hard at work behind the scenes, tweaking, updating, learning – all that good stuff. Next week it’s back to regular scheduled programming around these parts!

But before then, your weekly dose of link love – I hope you’ve got a minute…or ten!

vogue inspiration

  • My first taste of Aliza Licht, a.k.a. DKNY PR GIRL, was her top 10 social media pet peeves, and that rock mentioned in the article? Ya, I was living under it. I immediately reserved her new book Leave Your Mark and at the rate I’m going, I’ll have it finished by Monday.
  • If you’ve got a stockpile of bridesmaid dresses collecting dust in your closet like I do, Emily and Elizabeth shared styling tips on how to re-purpose them.
  • Give me all the fringe, especially this necklace (fourth row down) and we can’t forget about this one either.
  • Tips on how to keep your houseplants happy. Consider these noted after what happened to my fiddle leaf fig….
  • White done right. I wonder if I could pull off the two-piece look?
  • Cait recently started offering her styling services and she’s running a Mother’s Day Special through Sunday. Get on that, ladies!
  • Wedding traditions I plan to break on the big day (and no, that day isn’t coming up anytime soon, because I know some of you will ask haha)
  • I’m tucking Lisa’s ultimate guide to blog post ideas in my back pocket for those days when I need an extra boost of inspiration/motivation.

And for all you Kansas Citians…

  • A few of my gal pals and I are heading to a free yoga class on a rooftop downtown next Wednesday. Last year’s event certainly lived up to my expectations and I know this year will be just as great. Did I mention it’s free? Details here.
  • Looking for a few new spots to hit up this weekend? Right this way.
  • Bloggers, will I be seeing you at Hotel Sorella the Tuesday after next for the spring KC Blogger Meetup?!

I’m getting back into the swing of things at Health House tomorrow morning with back-to-back classes, then heading to lunch with my group of girlfriends from college (hey, Syd!) and Sunday will be spent celebrating with the women who love me unconditionally. All in all, a pretty solid weekend ahead.

Enjoy yours to the fullest, friends!

You can totally pull off the two piece! It’s basically just a dress that you can mix and match. Thank you for linking to my post 😉 xx

    • Anytime 🙂 Your two piece sets are killing it lately, I’m just as fond of the one you are wearing today – so much pizzazz!

Runs in the rain are the best!

We broke almost all those wedding “traditions”. We had uneven bridesmaids and groomsmen and it was not a big deal in the slightest. You’re usually the only person who worries about whether those choices will bother people
