Weekending

Happy Monday, friends! How was your weekend? I’m feeling extremely refreshed, which is a nice change up from the angst that usually sets in on Sunday nights. If I had to guess, I’d say it has a little something to do with the half marathon I not-so-secretly ran on Saturday – if you follow me on any one of my social media channels, you’ve probably seen a photo, or ten! I’ll be sharing my thoughts on the race later this week, but today, we’re breaking down the outfit that got me through post-race activities.

You live and you learn and you still post the photos on the Internet, apparently. Now that we’ve got that out of the way…

Comfort is always a key factor in my day-to-day outfits, but after 13.1 miles it becomes crucial. This drawstring skirt was a no-brainer when deciding what to throw on for a cookout with friends. Pair it with a lightweight sweater due to the fact that it still gets chilly at night and you have yourself a match made in comfort heaven.

Even though I never thought in a million years I’d be wearing any sort of heel after a run that long, they are surprisingly comfortable and gave my toes the freedom they deserved. @LOFT stripes + @jcrew drawstring and @coach @converse accessories | @jessicazimlich how to wear tennis shoes with a skirt @LOFT @jcrew @coach @converse | @jessicazimlich

I’m really, really looking forward to stretching it out at Bar Method later today – I just hope they take it easy when it comes to the thighs because mine have had just about all they can take.

I’m off to make the most of my week – enjoy!
