Drop Waist

I hope you don’t mind if I keep it short and sweet today. I’ve felt a little “off” ever since we got back from our trip. I’m not sure if I’ve caught a bug that hasn’t fully developed due to my flu shot or if the post-vacation blues are really that bad. Either way, I’m crossing my fingers that whatever it is hightails it outta here before the weekend. I’ve got a hot date with three of my favorite things: the couch, a heart shaped pizza and Pete!

Now, for the goods. This drop waist dress was a total impulse buy, but after a busy holiday season, I figured the cost per wear was next to nothing. If you haven’t noticed, I tend to gravitate toward the easy when getting dressed. Black on black on black – easy. I plan to summon spring by rocking this dress sans tights, paired with a fun pair of brogues and all the pastels. But if that doesn’t work, I’ll gladly shove it to the back of my closet until the next bout of cold weather comes our way.

sam edelman bootsI was telling my friend Alex how awful my boots looked after they took a beating in the snow and slush last year. I was sure they were goners, but she recommended I take them to Renner’s on the plaza and voila! One stern “talking to” from the man behind the counter (on taking care of my suede) and $13 later, they look as good as new! If you’re in the Kansas City area, I couldn’t recommend them more – especially for the price!

Loving that look and you absolutely deserve to relax with a heart-shaped pizza on the couch this weekend. The post-travel blues are the WORST. I always feel off for at least a week because I remember what I was doing at that hour on vacation (i.e. the swim-up bar or exploring).

He rescued a pair of brand new Frye booties after a night out pretty much ruined them last year…and I got the talking to also for not protecting the nubuck. Now I always protect my boots before wearing them, BUT i think my black suede booties will need to get cleaned up this spring, too.

Your boots are so adorable! That is amazing you were able to get them revived. I have a few pairs that are suffering badly this winter. Too much snow!

Aw, thanks! Still getting the hang of this haha. That’s the worst! I want to wear them all the time, but when there is slush, it makes it hard.
