Tell Me What You Want (survey time!)

you were made for this

Hello from Houston! How was your weekend? First off, I want to say I’m sorry for being so MIA last week. Bluehost really knows how to throw a (somewhat technologically challenged) gal for a loop. I swear if it weren’t for Lindsay, I would have completely lost my marbs by now. And I would be lying if I said there weren’t a few tears shed when I wasn’t able to save any posts and my hard work disappeared into cyberspace. A true blogger problem if I ever heard one. That was actually the longest period of time I’ve gone without blogging and my feelings on the situation confirmed just how much this space means to me. Assuming said problems don’t come back with a vengeance, this week is going to be extra juicy as far as posts go! *Crossing my fingers

I’ve got a quick little assignment for you this morning – if that’s okay with you! It’s been a little over 6 months since the last 26 and Not Counting blog reader survey and since there have been quite a few new faces around here, I figured it’s high time I get to know you better.

Normally I do most of the talking, but today we’re swapping seats. I want to make this space enjoyable for both you and I, but I can’t make that happen without a little feedback, right? Riiiight. I’m even open up the lines for some good ‘ol constructive criticism! This is your time to spill the beans.

Go on and tell me what YOU want (what you really, really want…)

If you would rather email me, or leave me a comment, that’s okay too! I really and truly appreciate you taking a few minutes out of your day to let me know what’s working and what’s not. Take the blog reader survey here!

I’ll be back with more on my trip down south tomorrow – happy Monday!

  2. Ah! It will all get resolved! Just some bad luck! I was meaning to tell you, if you lost posts, you should start writing your drafts in something other than WordPress. I started writing mine in a Google Document. Just so I could keep track of ideas and stuff. Then, when I’m ready to publish, I just copy it over. Might be kind of time intensive, but it is how I keep a backup. Never lose anything.

That’s a great idea. Not sure why I haven’t thought of that before. I’m going to start doing that!

  3. It’s straight up scary when you server issues that result in lost data/saved up posts, etc. Eeek!

How was Houston? Did you have fun?

Love the blog survey idea- great way to stay tapped in on what your readers want!

    Hi Jess, love
the Blog Survey and think it’s a great way to know your readers and show them that you really want to provide the content they are looking for.Great idea.

Last week I wrote a full post and had it deleted and I think for a good 2-3 minutes I just sat in disbelief with my mouth hanging open refusing to believe it was gone.

Thank you so much, Taryn! Oh my word, that’s the worst, isn’t it! We can lean on each other for support if it ever happens again 🙂
