Living In The Moment

I think we can all agree that there is a direct correlation between how much fun the weekend holds and how fast Monday sneaks up on us, right?

Live In The MomentThis weekend can be summed up in a few words: bottomless mimosas and endless laughs. Or if whiskey is more your taste, Missouri Mules and endless laughs. My cheeks still hurt. I should have known that Shanley’s choice for her birthday brunch would be top notch – she’s the stomach behind Eat It Kansas City, after all. Have you been to Sasha’s Baking Co. downtown? Scrumptious, I tell ya!

Needless to say, I took the Cookie Monster’s words to heart and really lived in the moment. And as a result, I broke my #DryJanuary commitment (I don’t think I had shared that with you all – SURPRISE!), but I can’t think of better reason. That doesn’t mean that I’m not gladly settling back into my no booze routine as we round out January.

The coming weeks/months have me feeling all sorts of antsy. You know, the type of excitement that causes you to wish away the so-so days just so you can get to the really good stuff! It’s going to take everything in me to remember to slow down and live in the moment. Between my first race of the year, my little brother turning 16, a trip to Houston with Pete’s family, a special collaboration that I can’t wait to share with you all soon and a few other things (coed Bar Method, anyone?), it’s going to be hard! I consider myself lucky to have so much to look forward to and so many special people to share the excitement with. To that I say, bring it on!

I can’t let you go without mentioning that there is an amazing sale happening over at Old Navy (and just about everywhere else). I’ve been waiting to buy a few staple pieces to add to my closet, including this blush cardigan and this short-sleeved striped top. When everything is up to 50% off with an additional 20% off at checkout, it’s justifiable!

SHOP OLD NAVY’S SALE!

And with that, I’m signing off. I hope you remember to live in the moment on this glorious Monday!

  13. Sounds like a great weekend, and definitely a good reason to break your dry spell. I’ve attempted to do that but my husband’s New Years resolution appears to be the opposite…he keeps coming home with amazing wine!

I’m still going strong! Honestly, I look the same. However, I am much, much more productive on the weekends 😉 And Bar Method isn’t quite the struggle it normally is after a night with friends and heavy boozing.
