Weekly Rounds Vo. 5

desk styling

It’s Friday, we made it. You know the drill.

– I need to implement more of these 5 Home Rituals to Try put out by Clementine Daily. Confession: I never make the bed. I could probably attribute it to the fact that Pete and I normally wake up at separate times, but I can’t help but think that it would do wonders for my mood.

– This infographic over on The Social Robot that compares the sugar and calories in candy to the amount in donuts makes my infatuation with donuts a little less (emphasis on little) worrisome. At least I’m not a candy bar addict. I’ll be using this chart as justification from here on out.- I would love to have this primrose mirror set up in a separate room, meant for sipping bubbly and leisurely getting ready. I’ll keep dreaming.
– Ashlei put together “A Quick Word Guide for the Life & Style Blogger” and it came just in nick of time. I’ve noticed that some of the words in my vocabulary have started to become repeat offenders and I need to up my game a smidgen (see, I usually would have said bit).- Victoria and Meg are hosting a 5 Question Wildcard Twitter Chat through their joint venture The Well next week and I’m tickled (new word usage) over the thought of having my question answered! Will you be tuning in?- I’m on Day 24 with no pop/caffeine and things aren’t too bad. I still long for a midday break to Sonic every once in awhile, but nothing I can’t handle. But I need to confess. I skipped a workout for my #Fit30Days goal. My body hurt basically everywhere from an intense workout a few days prior and there was a must-watch baseball game on. I’m not going to beat myself up over it. New goal #Fit29Days 😉

In case you missed out around here: Weekending in Kansas City and the hot topic surrounding Lean In and equal pay.

If you haven’t heard, our Kansas City Royals are playing in the World Series this weekend! I’m off to cheer them on, while simultaneously celebrating one of my best friend’s birthday! Have a great one, I’ll see you back here on Monday 🙂

  1. Congrats on making it so long without caffeine! I gave up caffeine one year for lent and I was a monster by the end of it. #needcoffee

I will say, even if it is at 6pm I make my bed everyday. Sometimes I may unmake it and get right in for sleep but it does boost my mood 😊

Holy cow girl… total respect on no caffeine for that long. I used to only drink tea, so I suppose it would be possible if I tried hard enough! Maybe next month when I’m more settled into my new place 😉 Have a GREAT weekend!

  9. Thanks for sharing Ashlei’s link to “A Quick Word Guide for the Life & Style Blogger.” I feel like you could switch these up and use them to describe food! Word ruts suck and this list came at a good time for me!
