National Donut Day With Lamar’s

Before we get to the good stuff (donuts) I have a story. Life has a tendency to throw curve balls every so often, which isn’t good news for me considering I can barely hit the straight ones. I mentioned on Twitter Tuesday afternoon that I was cruising the highway on my ride home and my passenger side mirror flew off. I couldn’t help but laugh because I had rigged the thing up with duct tape and never put forth the effort to get it fixed by the professionals. Hilarious, right?

Fast forward to Wednesday morning. I headed out the door for an early morning run before work and I noticed that my car wasn’t in the back lot of our apartment building. I figured I must have forgot that I parked it around front and hit the pavement. When I got back and walked to the front of our building I realized it wasn’t there either and the panic sank in. My car was stolen. The Ranch Wagon, as some of my friends have dubbed it, was missing. I was in shock. Out of all the shiny rides in the back lot, the dirty scoundrels (keeping it PG here) decided they wanted my baby blue?! Unfreakinbelievable. After I filed a police report I had Pete drop me off at work since there was nothing else we could do at that point. Seriously, what would I do without that guy?

It still boggles my mind that people have the nerve to take things that aren’t theirs. The hand-me-down car I purchased from my Dad suited me just fine and if I had it my way, I wouldn’t even own a car. I consider it to be an evil necessity. I had hopes that it would show up in one piece, but I’m sad to say that it didn’t. Instead, it was found wrapped around a telephone pole with the contents of my car scattered everywhere. This is in no way meant to be a pity party. It just feels good to vent sometimes. Nothing that a donut or a million dollars can’t fix.

  1. Oh man Jess, I’m so sorry that happened to you. That lumping sucks (I try to keep it PG with Adventure Time jokes). Hope everything works out with your insurance and there is nothing a donut can’t cure πŸ™‚

  3. I’m so sorry about your car! That is terrible! You poor thing. I totally agree that it’s hard enough to traverse through the things coming straight at you, let alone the curve balls. I think donuts will make everything better:) This is such a great idea, and I can’t wait to play along:)

Good morning Sweetheart, I again am so happy that you and Pete are okay, that you weren’t in the car when they decided to steal it! It sucks knowing you are simply out a car though since it was older and you had liability insurance. πŸ™ Life does truly throw some curve balls, but I am happy to know you are able to roll with it and get moving forward, you are a fantastic person! The horror of knowing someone violated your personal items it awful though. B and I love you bunches! Love, Mom

  8. JESS OMG! I’m so sorry that happened to you! I can’t believe someone would do that- the nerve?!

You have such a positive attitude though- I would be on a city-wide rampage looking for the culprits.

Hope your week gets better, babe!
