9 Free Things To Do This Summer

Can anyone else feel summer flying by? July, where did you come from? I’ve got my heart set on some fun (and free) activities this season, but I need to get a move on! Some of these are specific to the Kansas City area, but if you venture out, you may find something similar right in your hometown!

Athelta offers free workout classes right in their stores (before opening hours, of course). If you live in Kansas City, the Plaza location has the hookup! All you have to do is pick out the class you want to attend and show up ready to sweat! If you live in the KC area and decide to try it out, let me know beforehand and we can meet up. Not in the Kansas City? Check with your local store to see what classes they offer!

After all that working out, I’m sure you will have worked up an appetite. Packing up a couple of homemade sandwiches and venturing outside to the park is way better than staying cooped up indoors. I think the lawn at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is Kansas City’s best place for a picnic. Tip: you can head inside and see what the museum has to offer and it won’t cost you a penny.

In the spirit of saving money, I fully intend to pamper my fingers and toes before the Fourth of July holiday. I even picked out a new shade over the weekend for the occasion, e-nuf is e-nuf.

My Nana and Papa Colonel are heading up from San Antonio this week and I’m so excited to spend some quality time on the deck, grilling and catching up!

What’s on your summer bucket list?

p/s I want to wish my Dad the happiest of birthdays! And yes, he reads this little ‘ol blog of mine πŸ™‚

I can’t believe summer is almost gone either! June-where? Seems like last year, it sort of dragged. But we are doing lots more this year, so that’s prob why. And of course, lots of this free stuff you mentioned. πŸ™‚

I can’t believe it is almost July…this year is flying by (once again). This is a great bucket list. I am dying to have a picnic, but that will have to wait until fall here in Phoenix…much too hot to be sitting outside!

Love this! Since I’m still a student, my summer is technically half gone (shock and sadness) but the weather has just gotten nice here in Canada, so I’m using that as my excuse! July and August are my time to enjoy the summer and do all the things on my bucket list!
