Music To My Ears // Sam Smith

Sam Smith

I don’t play favorites when it comes to music genres. I love them all: country, R&B, hip hop, dubstep, pop, you get the idea. I enjoy pretty much anything that spurs some sort of emotion within, but it’s rare that I find an artist and fall in love with every song they put their name on. Sam Smith was different and it was love at first listen.

I have to be honest, I didn’t stumble across this goodness all on my own. I have Pete (the resident music expert in our house) to thank. Oddly enough, he downloaded his shortened album, “Nirvana E.P.” on iTunes right before my first half marathon and I listened to it while running. Music always seems to bring me back to a certain time and place in my life and I’m certain this album will always remind me of that run. Mr. Smith’s first full album, “In the Lonely Hour” is currently on pre-order, but it will be out for good in June. If you need me, I’ll be listening to “Latch” and “Nirvana” on repeat. Happy listening, friends.

  1. 30 seconds into the song & I’m hooked! Time to pre-order the album and add it to my summer list of music.

Okay so weird, I had heard that Sam Smith was the voice in the Disclosure version of Latch so I listened to his EP on my drive home from Easter last night. OMG I am so obsessed. He is amazing!
