Donuts fix everything.

donuts fix everything.

A few nights ago I decided to take a stab at Google+. Much to my surprise I had been uploading photos since last summer and let’s just say….some of them weren’t meant for the world to see. I had this brilliant (at the time) idea that I would just delete all of my photos and “start fresh.” So I deleted the photos, tweaked a few settings and went about my evening feeling like I had accomplished something major. Fast forward to last night when I sat down to work on my post for today (about half marathon training). I painfully discovered that by deleting photos from Google+ you also delete them from the blogosphere, for-ev-er (Sandlot voice). Que the panic and self-hatred.

I sat in front of the computer screen for several minutes trying to decide if I wanted to cry or not. I frantically Googled “how to get your photos back after you delete them from Google+” and found an article about a girl who deleted 7 YEARS worth. She quit blogging. I’ve haven’t even been at this a year yet, so I had no excuse but to start piecing my posts back together.

If Google+ has ever wronged you then you’ve come to the right place. So today, I’m telling you all that “Donuts Fix Everything,” because they do. And one thing is for certain,  I’m not going near that thing again until Alissa tells me to. Happy hump day!

I’m sorry girl! I love the sandlot voice too.. Hilarious.. That fixes all problems. One of my big regrets is I deleted a BUNCH of old posts that I didn’t like anymore instead of hiting revert to draft. Blah.

Oh what a bummer, I’m sorry! I can not figure out Google+ and the pictures for the life of me. I swear there are pictures on there I have no idea how they even got there. I THINK I have my photos set to private, but I really have no idea. It makes me nervous just thinking about. Now I could use a doughnut, please.

  7. Ahhh! Google stole my blog a couple of weeks ago and it forced me to switch over to WordPress. That’s craaaazy about the girl who deleted 7 years worth. I’d probably bow out of the blogosphere too!!

say that out loud since Google is listening!

There didn’t seem to be a rhyme or reason as to why some photos were saved there and others weren’t. Glad I’m not alone… Donuts for everyone!

  14. I’m so glad you posted this, because this sounds like something I would do! Why wouldn’t Google say something about that before you deleted the pictures, because I’m sure it happens to tons of people. I bet
that was so horrifying when you found out pictures were missing:(
