Road trip.

I spent my entire Saturday and the greater part of Sunday in a food induced coma. Four days of nothing but fatty foods and boozy drinks left me with a major holiday hangover. I made a promise to myself that I would get back to the gym on Sunday (and I did), but my body was seriously sluggish. Too much of Grandma’s mac and cheese I suppose. I need to hit the gym hard this week before we leave for Dallas bright and early Thursday morning. I’m going to pack my workout gear in hopes that I can squeeze in a little activity while we are gone, but we all know how that goes. Now onto the fun stuff. 10 family members, two cars and eight long hours. If you didn’t think I was crazy before, this is your confirmation. I haven’t been on a long road trip since we accidentally took a 32-hour grey hound bus ride home from Panama City Beach several spring breaks ago. When we were growing up we used to make a yearly trip down to San Antonio to visit my Nana and Papa Colonel, so I’m no stranger to the long road trip, but a lot has changed since then. Mostly the fact that I can no longer fit between the back row of seats on the floorboard for a nap/mini escape.I decided I would prepare myself this time around. Below are some of the road trip essentials I’m bringing along. Do you have any travel tips or suggestions on what to bring?!

Road trip essentials
The last time my fam traveled to Dallas I had to stay behind for work and boy did I miss out. My youngest brother managed to take off his shirt (unbeknownst to all 6 of his fellow passengers) and draw a rock on his stomach with a marker. Needless to say, I’m anxious to see what this year’s trip has in store. I’ll be back after my weekend getaway, but feel free to follow along with the chaos on Twitter and Instagram.p/s be on the lookout for a giveaway in the next few weeks. I’m excited! 🙂
