Progression.

Happy Labor Day! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! I’m thankful that the only laboring I did today was vacuum out my car. And I had some extra help from my little sis so we had it done in no time.
September is one of my favorite months because of the crisp, cool weather. I love being able to workout in the outdoors without the potential to die of a heat stroke and even though I could care less about football, I love celebrating game days! Bring. It. On.
I figured now would be a good time to give you an update on my list of 27 things as well as the Skinnyo challenge since we’ve passed the halfway mark! Keep in mind, some of these are “works in progress”
4. Make a point to keep in touch with family out of state more often – I originally intended this to be for all of my Texas fam, but after some deep thinking I realized every last one of my family members live out of state, except for my sister Jordan. Still in denial that I am a Missouri resident. I decided to send the little Z’s a note this week since they just started back to school. I used the Postagram app for iPhone. It’s ridiculously easy to sync with your Instagram pictures and for 99 cents a personalized postcard with our picture will arrive to them in just 3-7 days.
5. Complete a photo-a-day challenge (in it’s entirety) – I made it through the FMS photo a day challenge for the entire month of August! I’m not gonna lie, it got tough toward the end when my creativity fizzled out. I’ll leave it up to the pros from now on.
10. Read more – I just started reading Revenge Wears Prada. I was on the waiting list at the library for The Husbands Secret, but they called a few days after I picked up the first book and I’m nowhere near finished. Hopefully by the time they get to my name this time around I’ll be ready. Talk about a first world problem!
13. Lose the last 10lbs my body is holding onto – I’m not going to cut out carbs or cheese or anything crazy like that! But I hit that dreaded weight loss plateau I’ve read about countless times in my Self and Women’s Health magazines. In order to get where I want to be I’ve switched up my routine a bit, keep reading to see how it’s working out.
17. Save more money – I’ve re-vamped my budget so that I can start implementing my new savings plan. I’ve just gotta repeat to myself, I will not go shopping, I will not go shopping.
19. Run/walk/jog/elliptical my way through 1,000 miles – So far I’m at 124 miles. A little behind when you break it down day-by-day. August was crazy busy and September is shaping up to be that way as well, but I need to get myself caught up!
27. Write a letter to myself to read next year at this time – Written, signed and sealed!
As for the Skinnyo challenge, we just have 28 days left and I’m down 2.5lbs. I’ve really started upping my strength training regimen and I decided to give lunges a try. They haven’t ever been my favorite. I started with 3 sets of 12 last week and couldn’t sit down without wincing for two days straight! Soreness means it’s working, right?!
Here are a few pics from the weekend, enjoy your last day of freedom. Back to the grind tomorrow!
