Photos and Fitness.

How is it already August? I swear I was just ringing in the New Year with my friends, drinking bottles of cheap champagne like the world was going to end. But that’s all beside the point. I am determined to make August accawesome.
A little friendly competition never hurt anyone and I needed a way to kick start #3 on my list before I let another 6 months pass by. I decided a weight loss competition between a few of my friends and I would be fun. We are giving ourselves two months (August 1st-September 30th) to reach the goals we have set for ourselves. If we don’t reach our goal, we have to pay the price. I didn’t think that losing out on a few bucks over the course of two months was risky enough. So, I did a little digging and found that the threat of having to post a picture of yourself to social media (in your swimmies only) usually does the trick. Not to mention come October there will be no pool is sight for a quick photo-op.
We are using a website called Skinnyo to track our progress along the way. It’s free and it’s easy.

I know five pounds in two months doesn’t seem like much, but I’ve seriously plateaued and I’m going to have to up what I’m doing at the gym. My main goal is to build more muscle! I’ve definitely been neglecting the weights lately. I’m hoping I will notice changes in the mirror and not just the number on the scale, because there is no way in hell I am going to post a picture of myself in my bikini in October. Not unless I’m going on some surprise trip to the Caribbean that I just haven’t found out about yet.
I’ve also decided to attempt my first FMS Photo a Day Challenge this month. I’m going to try not to be one of those people who get five days behind and then decide to blow up Instagram with pointless pics in an attempt to catch up, promise!
Whew, so much commitment in one blog post!
p/s For some reason or another my Daily Mile widget isn’t updating. I reached out for help on their website, but that didn’t really go anywhere. I even went so far as to change the widget to see if that was the problem. Anyone have any suggestions for me?!
