Monday Mantra.

I’m enforcing a new mantra for Monday, “quit slackin’ and make shit happen.” I came across the saying on Pinterest (which led me here). It just fits. The weekend brings ample opportunity to get things done, but let’s be honest, sometimes we just want to push all obligations aside and have a little fun! So, that leaves you with an extra-long to-do list come Monday morning.
I’ve always been told that I have a Type A personality, simply based on the fact that I am obsessive when it comes to staying organized. My planner is my best friend and if you took a look at my kitchen counter right now I’m sure you would find a slew of scratch written notes to myself.  I make an embarrassing number of lists each week.
For the most part I’m an old school list maker, but the grocery list is a whole different story. I use the Buy Me a Pie! iPhone app, it’s the free version. I’ve only purchased two apps in my entire life and one quickly became a regret after the popularity of TFLN wore off. This app is so easy to use, you simply add things to your list as needed, there are tons of pre-loaded items you would typically pick up at the grocery store. Once you are shopping you can “scratch” (tap) items off the list as you go and they will disappear!
I found this was a lot easier than jotting down necessities on multiple pieces of paper through the week and trying to scrounge them together when it was finally time to restock the pantry, not to mention carrying all that stuff through the store! With the purchased app ($2.99) you have the ability to create multiple lists (Costco, Wal-Mart, etc.) and you can share lists between family members. Add this to your app arsenal and tell me it’s not easier to cruise the aisles!
What do you do to stay organized? I’m always up for trying new things.
p/s Next week I’ll have an update on my 27 things as well as the Skinnyo challenge, stay tuned!

  1. You are cursed on both sides of the fence, my child. You are most definitely “our” child. You get the note/list thing from your dad, and the planning/organizing (I always have a day planner) from me and your dad. LOL! You are doubly cursed, ummm I mean blessed. 😉 But, there is nothing wrong with a bit of organization, as long as you leave room for a tiny bit of chaos. And, as for the app for grocery shopping, I love that idea. Only issue I have is…we keep a list magnet on the fridge so when something runs out, B is supposed to write it down so I know about it. ie. we’re out of ketchup (I don’t eat it, so I’d never know)so, is this grocery app list interactive between more than one person?
